Kettlebell Conditioning

Kettlebell training is a form of training that will not only improve the appearance of your physique, it will give you strength and mental toughness that you did not even know was possible. Imagine how much fat your will burn and how your muscular endurance will go through the roof. No doubt about it, high rep Kettlebell training is an aerobic/anaerobic workout and great alternative to traditional, boring cardio or weight lifting routines. You can accomplish in 30 minutes with Kbs what would normally take you twice as long on a treadmill or in the traditional weight room!
Efficiency is not about cutting corners—it’s about making the most out of your workout program, and getting the best results in the shortest amount of time. This leaves you free to do other things—whether they are spending time with your family or get in a few extra rounds on the heavy bag. And this is why MMA fighters such as Frank Shamrock, BJ Penn, and Fedor enhance their workouts with Kettlebells. Special Forces use KB’s as well for their functionality and efficiency. Special Forces Units need to be in tip top shape, but must have available time to learn and train all of the other aspects of their job.
What Is A KettleBell?
A favorite tool of successful MMA fighters, a Kettlebell looks like a cannonball with a suitcase handle welded to the top. It’s a hunk of iron with a long, rich history that is virtually unknown in America. Kettlebells have been used for centuries in Eastern Europe and are beloved for the strength they impart.
Virtually unheard of in the West, Kettlebells were also extremely popular with early American and European bodybuilders and strongmen at the dawn of the 20th century. Behind the former Iron curtain, Kettlebell lifting developed into a closely followed sport with local, national and world championships. Luckily, Kettlebell training is now catching on as the hottest new trend in American fitness with a mainstream appeal for all fitness levels, ages and genders.
Why have they recently become so popular?
The reason—Core Training. Through the early nineties American weight training focused on targeting the individual muscle group with pure isolation. By the mid-nineties that philosophy gave way to functional training. Functional training promotes the concept that muscles should be worked in unison, creating a healthy, functional strength that better prepares the body for everyday activities including lifting up a suitcase to picking someone up and throwing them during an MMA or grappling match! This new fitness movement echoes what the early proponents of Kettlebell training knew long ago: workouts should have a purpose! The modern fitness establishment is again ready for Kettlebells, the ultimate in functional core training.
